Activision Clouds Future of Ghostbusters and Other Titles
Posted by Peter Skerritt, 117 days ago Jul 29, 2008 12:23

A curious thing happened when Activision announced late Monday that it was going to be making some changes in terms of its Vivendi line of software. While well-known franchises like Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon are going to be seeing more games, anticipated releases including Ghostbusters and Brutal Legend were not included in the final release list -- and Activision is not denying that these games will not be published, at least at this time.

A GameSpot story quotes an unnamed Activision spokesperson, saying that Activision will be "reviewing our options regarding those titles that we will not be publishing." Interestingly enough, the same story also indicates that a panel slated for Comic-Con to discuss the Ghostbusters games was cancelled abruptly, as well.

This move by Activision is a curious one, as both Ghostbusters and Brutal Legend were both well on their way to completion and other tabled titles included new games featuring 50 Cent and Riddick, both of which spawned successful titles during the last console generation.

TGR will be following this story as it develops.
