However, even though it took me about ten attempts to defeat the final boss, it was very exciting when I finally succeeded! Metroid had the perfect combination of puzzle solving and intense action. Graphics: 10 The graphics of this game were incredible! The texture of the environments were unwavering. With the use of lighting textures, the locations of each planet and its components were astounding. Sound: 10 The sound effects were vibrant and full of energy. From the blasts of Samus’ gun to the morphing effects into hyper mode were intense. Difficulty: Hard Concept: 10 The overall concept of the game was very unique. Even though I had not played the previous Metroid games, I was brought along within the new story line without confusion. The plot which pits Samus against corrupted versions of her former bounty hunter allies was new and fresh; without the knowledge of the previous stories. Overall: 10 Granted I have not played very many video games, I couldn’t have been more entertained with a game, in general. As noted in the difficulty level, this game was extremely challenging. Some of the boss battles bordered on ridiculous, in their difficulty. That being said, when finally defeating the game, I felt a great sense of accomplishment.
